It is with great pride and humility I introduce myself to some and reintroduce myself to many of you as the new Principal of Luverne School. To say I am excited to be the Principal is an understatement. I passionately take on the position of Principal of Luverne School after having served two years as Assistant Principal here, and after thirteen years of serving Montgomery Public Schools. I earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) (K-6) in Elementary Education from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, AL, Masters of Education - (M.Ed.) in Administration (P-12) , and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Administration (P-12) from Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL.
I have been happily married for fifteen years and my incredibly supportive wife and I are extremely happy to have healthy wonderful daughters. I am one of ten children. (Yes 10!!) My mother and father recently celebrated their forty third wedding anniversary. After raising five boys and five girls, all born two years apart, I think they deserve a break.
I enjoy all sports, music, reading, gaming, creating, editing, and rendering DVD projects, anything dealing with technology, and most important being a dad. My favorite sports if I had to pick would be basketball and college football. My favorite team and player are the Lakers and Kobe Bryant. Two words some up my favorite college football team... "Roll Tide" I am also a huge fan of the Luverne Tigers
I am extremely grateful to Superintendent English, The Distinguished Crenshaw County Board Members, the wonderful teachers and students of Luverne School, and this active supportive community for giving me this tremendous opportunity to lead this school. I look forward to a great year this year and many years to come. I operate daily with the belief that "Everyone Everywhere Educated is Empowered."
Mr. Jamie K. Howard, Ed.S.
Principal, Luverne School
